Funeral of Scyld Scefing by Elenlin

June 20th, 2009 2:29 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Gather up a number of things befitting the memory of someone or something you have lost and send them forth, in a dignified fashion, to an unknown destination.

I did this task a few months ago, just haven't gotten the chance to write it up till now.
A few years ago my best friend and I had a major fall out. It was a very trying time for me, with lots of hurt feelings that I've been still working through. I found this task and felt that it might help me let go. I printed off all the LiveJournal post made about the situation and folded them into paper boats. Then I went to the lakes to set them to sail. A burial at sea seemed the most appropriate thing to do for it.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a lot of pictures, because it was really windy and a little cold.
I have found setting them to sail has helped me feel a bit better about the situation.

I don't know if this got buried in all the great stuff going on lately, or if the efficient prose is keeping it on the DL, but... points.

Also, SAVE THE POINT! amiright?

That's a beautiful way to say goodbye to those sad memories!

And what an utterly cool picture of the seagul!!
