There are many things I know nothing about. . .like moles, for example. I wrote a one-page essay on what everyone should know about moles. Instead of using the suggested reverse madlibs technique, I used Language "Encryption". I translated the text into german then french and then back into english. The results were still understandable, but bizarre.
example:
Diameter - the diameter of the mols exceeds in more dimension of a rubber of pencil, to communicate your doctor immediately, if begins mols to purge to inflate or wound itch, or if you develop a black spot on the white of an eye.
I collected other random bits of text: pages from a small zine, clips from an story I found about a girl remembering what it was like to get her period, an edited version of my Character Business Card, and a note that said enjoy.
I put everything into an envelope with a synonym for important written on the front. I distributed them throughout a few Chicago neighborhoods. I tried to put them exclusively in places where the recipient was unknown--unoccupied newly constructed houses, vacant stores, mailboxes connected to construction sites, "take one" boxes, etc. The one I placed in the "take one" box remained for about two days, but on the third day it was gone. . .lucky lucky person.
