I redid my Desires task in American Sign Language. Sorry about the horrible video quality, but the artifacts are only on the background, so the signing should be intact.
One thing that interests me about this task is that you often run into differences between languages (or similarities!) that you hadn't noticed before. In this case, the one that caught my eye the most was that there is, as far as I know, no way to distinguish between 0 and O in ASL. This means that out of context it would probably look like I was talking about an airport. I also decided to translate "task" as "project", because the closest word for "task" i could find was the same as "work", and that's not the kind of task we're talking about!
For those of you who know ASL, you may very well notice things that are not terribly clear, or not the way one would actually express it in ASL. Well, I don't have a whole lot of experience with the language, so just pretend it's a 4-year-old signing. And once you're done pretending, drop me a message and give me suggestions, because I'm always up for more learning!

Ya, I had trouble catching some bits as I was watching it, and I was the one signing it! I think you really need a higher frame rate than digital cameras afford to catch ASL well.

I was waiting for someone to use ASL to do this task! My sister took ASL a few years ago and taught me a few words that I have probably since forgotten... but this is a cool completion!
This is the best take on this task that I've seen since Bubblesort's hieroglyphic version. I used to generally know a bit of ASL, so it was fun trying to pick some of it up again, even if I wasn't very successful..
