I was browsing the new tasks because, really, who would be sleeping at this hour, and everyone was off in San Francisco having their shindig. Why not get a little bit of a head start in reading and thinking about the tasks? Not that it would do me any good, of course, I tend to task extremely slowly, and infrequently (I swear I'll make it to level four one of these days!). Anyway, as I was reading along I came across Prank Monkey's Toy Box. What fun! And I have a great plan for it too! Not sure exactly how it will work out, but I have reasonably high expectations, and a good chance of actually completing it. Only problem? I've been planning on joining BARTPA this era, and still am. It has tasks that intrigue me, and I want to give it a shot. And it's really hard to do a task like the Toy Box (which, incidentally, is a sex shop near where I go to school) as a distance collaboration. Great sadness, but I would have to pass it up. At which point I notice the next task. _Cheat_. I had a chance...doubtful that it would work but....YES! The group and level requirements hadn't been reinstated yet! Quickly I signed up for the two tasks (my completion of this task being allowing completion of the Toy Box), and not a moment too soon. When I hit the "back" arrow after signing up for the Toy Box (at 00:40 by my clock) the new colors and logos were in, and the level and group requirements had been reinstated (I think. I realized now that it would have told me I wasn't qualified anyway because I had already signed up, but that *was* the first time I saw the new logos). My completion of Prank Monkey's Toy Box will have to wait until I am back at school, but this task is complete, as should be evidenced by the submission itself. Happy tasking! [This was completed at 01:19 on 1/13, but unfortunately I was unable to submit it at that time due to not figuring out this workaround...=( At the time I was going to claim first task completed during Insatiability, but obviously that doesn't apply anymore. ]

Yes, I know I didn't show that it was this account logged in, but you all know that I shouldn't be able to sign up for that task (or this one, or Prank Monkey's Toy Box), and I trust you know I could have photoshopped whatever text I needed if I thought it really mattered. Incidentally, it makes me very sad that my completion is in big block of text instead of properly spaced out. =(

Since the comment obviously didn't work either, here's what I was trying to say: So that's how I *sign up* for a task? Curse you site owners and your good programming practices! Well, at least I still know I cheated by signing up for a level 2 task while still level 1. I guess I'm not BARTPA this time around.

Sure seams like it…
Although I have to say I was starting to wonder if SFØ was "backed up"
That would be the worst data loss trajedy ever.

But I had faith in you boys… The Professors as it were.
PS Love the new features as I find them… "who wants to collaborate button" good call.

So, is it all unbroken now?

Does text work in tasks?

No rush, I mean, you've done some fine work here :)

I'm really glad you were able to use this task to cheat at SFZero. Any first person action-adventure game without cheats is barely a game at all!

We should probably make a cheat screen where you can test the SFX and music files for the game. That was the kind of cheat that I never understood as a kid.

(SFZero is backed up daily!)

Just to confirm (which I'd meant to do a while ago), there was a window where the database (including new tasks being activated, etc) was in the Era of Insatiability, while the code (including the line, "pfft, don't bother checking score right now") was livin' in the INTERREGNUM. So that's why there are few high level tasks impossibly "in progress". Hardly seems fair to punish these stroke-of-midnight SFZero-checking souls, but their completions of these tasks will, of course, be held to the highest of standards.

Didn't everyone sign up for tasks and wait to complete them in the new era?
I know I did. Not intentionally, though.

Tricia: They're on about high level Insatiability tasks that were dinned up for before the level/group requirements were put back in place.

In about a half hour window, I thought about it and then never tried it...

Right.

Some of us actually did quite a bit of task-reserving at the era boundary. I know I for one have two level six tasks sitting on my list on my list (though one of them is left over from Glasnost and got there honestly. Speaking of which, anybody want to buy a forgery?).

on yourlist on your list?
