Audio Montage by Maxx
September 19th, 2006 11:45 PMSo to make this montage, i already had the instrumental version of "Stroker Ace" by Lovage. I counted the bpm and then the bpm of the song i wanted to merge it with, "Time Keeps on Slipping" by Del. Then i sped up Stroker Ace to match. (i figured that would be less strange than slowing down vocals.)
I took the instrumental version of Time Keeps on Slipping and inversed its frequency. Then merged that with the version of it with lyrics, canceling out all the music and just leaving me vocals.
Then i just laid my Del vocals over my sped up lovage. I looped some Lovage bars to make the verses and choruses match. And viola. I present Stroker Del.

I love Deltron...and this track is really, really good.
in response to Alice Gray:
I was using Peak LE to do all the sound editing.
As for legally hearing the originals, a few google searches found me a Stroker Ace video and a Time Keeps on Slipping mp3. I guess the legality of those are the shoulders of whoever posted them/is hosting them.
Lovage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiNLOahu8YQ
Deltron: http://server1.plunder.com/1092/14%20-%20Deltron%203030%20-%20Time%20Keeps%20On%20Slipping.mp3
Then once you love them, you should run out and buy copies of both albums.
Stop raising the bar. I mean it's aesthetic and everything ... argh! ,
thanks! that's sufficiently different from Ween's version of Stroker Ace and that old Steve Miller song that starts out "Time starts on slippin'/into the future"...
there's a mash up I think I don't want to hear.
awesome! del rocks, and the lovage matches his flow perfectly.
I'm not really familiar with either original, though I don't know how you'd go about providing them legally. That sounds pretty difficult. what kind of software does it take?
