INSTRUCTIONS: Create a working replica of a common or mundane object that is exactly a power of ten times the size of the original. The power of ten may not be zero.

As I am daredevil of the mundane and magnificent, this seemed like a good task for me.

I have for several years now collected the little plastic bread bag tabs, and have quite a collection at this point. Of course there are the ones that come from the bread that I consume, but a good number of them come from out and about in the world. If you keep your eyes open for them they pop up just about everywhere. And when you collect them, instead of being annoyed that there is a little piece of plastic littering the ground, you get excited that you found another one! The world just gave you a gift.

As much as I like them, if there is a more mundane everyday object I can't think of it.

Being a puppet maker, I have lots of random things around including a roll of material which is "in the real world" used for the bills of hats and visors. which is very similar to the material bread tabs are made of. in the way that they are both thin sturdy plastics of different colors. I used the black, cause its what I had, and couldn't really justify the cost of the more expensive white.

I very carefully increased the 1"x1" tab to a 2 foot by 2 foot tab. Drawn, a trip through the ban saw, and a little sanding later... Tada! giant bread tab ready to close giant loafs of bread everywhere. I also came up with a few other uses for it.

Surely this task cannot be complete until you find a giant loaf of bread and apply this tab to it.

Awesome pants though.

That one appears to be in a park called Knoebels Amusement Resort in Elysburg, PA. Perhaps this one in Portland, Oregon would make a more reasonable pilgrimage.

It's great that you collect bread tabs.
