Tape Dress Form by The Pirate Lord, Tiny Dancing Tzarina, Asian Persuasion

January 9th, 2008 12:35 AM

INSTRUCTIONS: Make a dress form (mannequin torso), using the patented Emily Cooper masking tape method (or the duct tape method found here). additional points for coming up with something to do with it, and providing the standard photo evidence.

This dress was specifically designed for the Medieval Times. Unfortunately as funds were low the The Pirate Lord, Asian Persuasion and Tiny Dancer could not go to said Medieval Times, but we decided to make the dress anyways! Here we have three different colors of duct tape. Silver, black and red. Not only that but notice the detailing on the bodice designed and made by The Pirate Lord. We hope you enjoy! :)

This is a tape dress rather than a dress form. But still full of awesome.

IMO Tape forms are essentially pointless as an end result, is there any use in a hollow flexible dress maker's dummy? This dress is useful in that it acts as a - well - dress.
and looks hot.

It is a tape dress form. It is tape in the form of a dress. Awesome.

I'd tend to agree with you mink, but

If you read the link in the task instructions, you'll note "A Duct Tape Double is a dressmaker's form made out of duct tape, an old T-shirt, fiberfil, and a little ingenuity"

There's fiberfil involved, which means that the original suggested in the instructions is not hollow, but intended to be filled.

Vote for clothing that requires cutting off to remove.

Nothing wrong with that though.
