La Moustache Fausse by Xena, Angel Mois

July 28th, 2008 12:13 AM

INSTRUCTIONS: Execute an epic addition of a false mustache to a publicly-viewable image (or multiple publicly-viewable images) over which you do not have original creative control.

So Angel and I collaborated on this. As soon as she saw this task....... Let's just leave it at that.
The story itself is depicted through the media files uploaded below. Please view those to see what actually happened. Hopefully Angel Mois will come back and edit this with her side of the story.

So the target of this task was our campus mascot, The Golden Eagle statue. Ever since this statue was built and set up (in the smack dab middle of the entire campus for everyone to see =)), professors have non-stop complained about how much money was put into this statue, which could've been used to further enhance the education.

So we decided to target our mascot, but lo and behold a little part of me wondered what would happen if Angel and Xena got caught or if this was traced back to us......

NOTE: Here's what Angel didn't know in greater detail:

So of course, I do what any stubborn, fool would do! I ASK THE ADMINISTRATION FOR PERMISSION. =)

What I was told that if it was somehow presented in "a social action," it could not be punished. Also, it must be done anonymously, and the individual that I asked said that the conversation we had "was really a figment of our imagination." ;-)

Thus, the posters made as disclaimers (see pictures below).

The best part of this entire experience was probably that it was done very late at night, it was done by 2 women who are approximately 5 ft each, we encountered many frat boys (of which I was friends with at least two, this knowledge provided SOME relief), and were were armed with large engineering tubes, pepper spray, scissors, keys, a kitchen knife (used for sandwiches), and massive amounts of duct tape.

YES, WE WERE SCARED TO BE WOMEN.

Angel Mois' side of the story:

EXTREMELY.

There were many things that scared me during this whole experience. As of now, this is probably one of the most extreme and frightening things I've done in my life. And I LOVED it.

So first thing, first. I hate Xena. That woman never told me that she asked the administration for permission! That would have made this whole experience a lot easier and less worrisome. Throughout this thing, I was bothering the woman about getting in trouble, yet she never decided that it would be a good idea to tell me that she already got permission. What a douchebag. D:

However, the scariest part is how I was supposed to get home. This whole thing occurred right after a long night of mediocre bowling and bad music. I was pretty tired already and I was ready to go home. However, my phone was running out of battery. I was down to only 5% battery. I can't remember my parent's cell phone numbers since it was saved in my phone. So I had to leave it on to be able to call my parents. Okay, so that wasn't too much of a problem, until I realized that they would NOT pick up.

So imagine a small, 5 foot woman out in the middle of the night on a campus with some homeless students around. She has nothing but pepper spray, engineering tubes, a knife, and a decoy to protect her. Also, there's police walking around while she's trying to vandalize the university. It was frightening. Adding in the feeling of isolation that comes with losing your cell phone makes it all the worse.

However, there was a deep feeling of satisfaction that comes with completing this task. So.. HOORAY! Rejoice! Have an internet cookie since I have just finished my first REAL task!
