So let me fill you all in on the details. Back on February 11th I had a report due on a play that we had to read for my Acting class. I remembered February 10th and we were in Pleasant Hill, so I purchased a copy of David Mamet's Oleanna at Barnes and Noble and read it and wrote the report and handed it in the next day. First thing I have to say, Mamet is an effing genius, flipping amazing the way he can reproduce human speech patterns so accurately, its scary. In fact, it made the play incredibly hard to read. It was that good.

Now for the task. I was going to return the book back to the Barnes and Noble in my area, where it was not purchased. This was the scary/potentially illegal bit. Returning a book to somewhere it wasn't bought. I figured its Barnes and Noble though, all the same. So thats what I did. I walked up to the help desk and asked the lady where I can return books so she said the front desk, which is where I went next. I returned the book and got back exactly 13 dollars for it (the book itself cost 12.99, but the lady just didn't care about the extra penny and gave me a dollar). This is where I got extremely nervous. Rebuying the item. There was just no way I could go back and buy it from that same lady. I didn't quite have the courage to be looked at like that so suspiciously. My non-player friends recording the whole thing on my cellphone egged me on, but then reminded me I could always buy the book at the back counter in the Music section, so I settled on that (to be honest, I was scared of going back to the front. Here's the lame part. I lost money. I figured since the lady gave me exactly 13 dollars I would walk out with the play and an extra penny. Revenue! However, when they rung it up, it came to 14.02. Don't quite know what happened. And 14.02 is quite steep for a play script.

Oh and a note to others setting off to do this task. Do it as pair. One return it, one buy it back. That might work better. Or if you're way more badass than I am, do it the man way, and buy it back from the same person.
