I had an unusual summer this past year when I did not go to work or school. The extraordinary freedom was revitalizing and I had a fun time doing things that I otherwise would not have time for.

One hot night, here in the south, we considered it a good night for hunting mermaids. The bank told us it was still 85° at 1 am. We had some trouble finding the mermaids, many had disappeared from the places we remembered seeing them over the years. But we managed to capture some in picture format. We found them in stores, on public squares, on top of buildings and in front of restaurants. The mermaids were not alone on the city streets; they had whales and dolphins for company. The mermaid’s call is said to be seductive – we resisted even though a dip in the ocean would have been wonderful on such a sweltering night.

Then I had fun learning, and playing with, Windows Movie Maker. I hope you enjoy the results.
