Deer Tree,
I feel bad about the fact that you have been used as a guest book for the people who have entered the forest lately, but I appreciate your strength. You are obviously very old and strong and i respect that.
I'm not saying you look old...or like,
that your bark is kind of wrinkly
or that you have less leaves...um
Anyway, I think that you will be able to withstand the constant carving of years to come, as you already have in the past.
Oh, and as I'm writing this, I noticed I was writing on paper.
I hope it's not from someone you know...knew...

=(

I chose a tree in a forest I'm familiar with. You can tell its public because of all the carvings...
D.M.

This side, for some reason, hasn't been graffitied as much. The oldest date I've found on the tree was 1942 as shown in the picture.
My note...

I had a hard time because it was dark and the tape I brought was stuck to itself...and my fingers were freezing off.

What a lovely sentiment. I hope the tree appreciated it, unless it is a bastard.
I was about to ask for the text of the annotation.
And then I realized I had skipped over the text to the picture captions.
Curse my capricious eyes and their insistence on looking at the shiniest thing around!
