Not The intended Use by Thain Stormbringer, Frostbeard
January 29th, 2008 10:09 PMThis weekend, Frostbeard and Jotun One returned to my abode for a rousing game of Knattleikr. Sensing that my time had come (not least because I am leaving New England for Oregon in a week), I gathered up the abandon shorts and decided that they would make an excellent war banner. The addition of my father's old ski pole and some duct tape made the banner complete (and rather fetching if I do say so myself). When Jotun arrived, I proudly greeted him holding aloft the pennant of his shame. His laughter at the sight was clearly a clumsy attempt to hide his internal ocean of disgrace.

After everyone arrived, we took to the field. I posted the banner in a tree on the sidelines where it hung in triumph for the first half of the game. Thankfully, with Frostbeard lurking about there was no leaving it at that. Between the two of us it was decided that we needed to take things a step farther. Not only were the swim trucks being used in an unintended manner, but it was time for the banner they had created to be used for purpose that was originally intended for neither the whole and the various parts. It was javelin time...
PS – While he did manage to take his swimsuit home after this event, Jotun did leave at least one article of clothing in his wake at my house.

The last parry. Not as well captured, but nearly as epic. The worst part is that this was one of the least physically dangerous activities of the afternoon.
