INSTRUCTIONS: Do something extremely pleasurable for one minute. Do something extremely unpleasurable for ten seconds. Compare and contrast.

WARNING: I am naked in the
photos for this praxis. You can't see my genitals or anything, but I thought I
should give everyone the heads up...

So as was getting ready to
do Spectrality, it started to hail outside. Given that this is a
fairly rare form of precipitation, I started thinking about how to use it
for my tasking benefit.
After I stood outside for a moment this task
jumped to mind. Since the hot tub was
already warmed up and ready to go, I jumped in it for a minute. Pure Bliss! It was nice and warm, and there
were gentle water jets massaging me all over. Then after a minute I stepped out of the hot
tub and onto the deck. Frozen Hell! The
air was right around 30 deg. F, and the hail stung all over as it whipped
against my skin in the strong wind. The
worst was my feet; standing in a pile of icy hail…10 seconds was far too long

Totally relaxed in only a minute

Totally relaxed in only a minute

You can't tell in this picture, but there are small jets pulsing on the sore muscles in my back, legs and feet right now...

One minute was not enough...

Second #1

I still have enough warm water on me at this point to be ok. You can tell by the look on my face that part of me wants to laugh at how silly I must look, and part wants to know why I am getting hit by hundreds of little balls of ice from the sky...

Second #4

Second #4

First of all, you can see my breath in this picture...never a good sign when you are naked. By this time the full shock of the cold and hail had set in. You can see the muscles in my neck are all tensed with discomfort.

Sec. # 7

Sec. # 7

Eyes narrowed to keep out the hail...mouth puckered into a beaver look..neck tense...this blew...

Sec. #10

Sec. #10

You can see that by the time I was done, I couldn't stand flat-footed any more. The cold was uncomfortable that I had to stand on my tip-toes in an attempt to escape it. About .02 seconds after this shot I was neck deep in the hot tub again.

Hail sucks to stand in...

It might look like snow, but trust me, it's tiny balls of frozen death
