December 25th, 2007 8:43 PMSo it wasn't a far stretch to encourage them to help me with this task, which I've subtitled Cookie Checkers (Draughts)... My mother helped set up the board and my brother was the photographer.
I was again joined by my awesome sister as we went head to head in the Xmas cookie death match of the millennium. Click on the pictures to read the story.
The board is constructed. It take a lot more napkins than you would think!
Aside from donating the napkins, our mother helped cut some in half to get the required 32 napkins per color.
The board is complete!
For pieces we employed "refrigerator" cookies -- I was Green Sprinkles and Lauren was Red Sprinkles.
The pieces are all set up. Except can you find the missing one?

Lauren gets the first king! I stack her pawn with another cookie. Her hands are excited.
But I come right back and am kinged soon afterwards.

But it's not enough. Here I've forced her into a capture which will leave her last piece vulnerable...

Very nice. I've played Go with M&Ms, which has a very similar feel. If you use Chinese counting, you can eat the captures...
