Time (and medical attention) Heals All Wounds by The Duchess
February 28th, 2008 9:52 PMI was hoping to not do this task. Mostly because I get queasy when I see wounds, blood, injuries, and the like. I can barely even look at other praxis for this task because of that. But when I crashed my bike while riding to work last week the chance of using my injury for a task was the only thing that kept me going through the pain (minus the constant cursing and drinking that is). Bruises on me always change into some rather interesting colors so it was nice to have an excuse to document that. My knee has been in many shades after hitting Market St. In fact, I've found some color swatches based on Pantone colors that I think best match each day. You get a full week's worth of healing. It's still not perfect yet but now we're into those sickly greens and yellows which are harder to document on camera.
Knee fetishists: enjoy!

Aye, the swatches are great.
And is it just me, or is Day 4 in the shape of an angel with outspread?
Sweet.
vote for the fact that your knees and the swatches alternate in a checkered pattern when collapsed.
i would so love to play chess on a board of knees v. swatches.
Did you find it hard to photograph you knee? Or did you do it in a mirror? I had the toughest time because I couldn't look at the back of my camera where the LCD is while it was aimed at my knee! And then there was the whole lighting issue (too close with the flash and it blew out the entire image... etc.).
So how'd you do yours?
It was very hard to photograph. I had to angle the camera in just the right way to see it. (That's why they are all mostly of the same angle- me looking down at my leg.) And I took a lot of bad ones that didn't make the cut. Most of them were done without flash in lots of natural light and a tiny bit of photoshop enhancement to cut the glare.
You know, or perhaps you don't, I have a bruise fetish. I love bruises that come from hard sport playing or sexual activity. I think that riding your bike down market street counts as the former. Pantone rocks, well done for searching out the colours.
