Keep Marching On by Minimal Space
August 21st, 2010 9:57 AMSo in order to do this game, I'm going to start big. I'm going to keep marching forward with my head high and not look back. Physical objects are only stuff, it's the memories that count. I've made a push to own as little as possible and this task is JUST for me.
When looking around my room the first thing I thought could go was.....
Them

Sitting there on my bookshelf, collecting dust, presents given to me over time, and stuff I've had since i was a boy. Only thing... I never touch them, hardly ever really look at them...
The Ringleader!

I've had Kermit the longest. Since elementary school. He watched over my room, making certain I threw nothing of sentimental value away. Aww but look at his arm, bandaged from when my first dog took a bite out of it. oooh kermie...I remember drawing your eyes on over and over again with sharpies and playing with you and my friend all over the neighborhood... NO SOLDIER... STAY STRONG!! *tosses into the bad, barely a tear..... just barely... *
...

I don't even know.... he doesn't even speak english. But when you hit his head, he makes bubble sounds. He's kind of awesome because who else owns a jellyfish... NOT ME.... *throws in the bag with a glare.* Don't give me those derp eyes!
Alligator!

They called forth their most violent opponent, the one with the most teeth. (Kermit and the jellyfish had none to speak of.... thank goodness, can you imagine how frightening they would have been?) He was ready to chow down, and my heartstrings were the culprit. Oh but what they didn't count on was two things, I had no emotional tie to this guy, he was from an old job I left a long time ago. Also I had reinforcements to help.
Crazy Eyes

This, ladies and gentlemen is a horrible photograph, but as you see many of the foes have been slain by reinforcement 1, Crazy Eyes! He has teeth (at least a few) and EYE LASERS! But he's not the brains of this operation...
My top commander!

The one on the pillow, overseeing the battle, the queen of war... She helped compile the corpses into a bag and managed the operation.
There we go!

Off to the trash place with you. In all seriousness, they had sat there for years without being touched. The dust on them was pretty bad, and most of them were beyond repair or unwanted. I'm not one to waste, but this was the best I could do to start this off. Also the fact is, if I waited to take them to charity or give them to someone who did end up wanting them, I'd have never gotten rid of them. The memories are left, and those are what's important. Oh... and the top of that bookshelf can now house a new find of mine for a little while...
GIANT M!

Yeah, that looks a lot better. That tree picture behind it I drew in middle school. It took me like... two months. That may stick around for a little longer. The closet beside it however gets emptied this weekend! Now that I'm on a roll, this'll be sooooo good for me! Keep Marching On!

Yeah I have a long way to go. That's the first steps, glad to record it here.
I will soon stop spending all of my disposable income, hopefully. >.>;;
oh man, i know how hard that is. and they look at you like "why are you betraying me?" and you tell them "you're inanimate, hush up" and it's rough.
Yeah, lol 29yr old men totally shouldn't have a bookcase top of stuffed animals anyways, but they were all so dang cute, and I kinda feel like I should go around to everyone who gave them to me and apologize first hand. I figure they probably understand.
Oh and the giraffe I had bought myself.. it was pretty soft. <3
Hugs... Still have my 10+ unicorns whom i will probably never get rid of... Almost all completions of this task impress me.
Welcome to the game! If you have any questions, or just want to talk, please message me.
Hugs
Pixie
I'm pretty amazed too by the ones I see for completions in this.
Thanks for the welcome! I'll take you up on the talking sometime. P.S. I LOVE YOUR HAT!
Hooray Azi!
Good for you on clearing out the stuff! I still have to do a bit of that...
