The first card (lady @ electric fetus) was sent to a buddy in NH (no picture available from final destination):
Hello Friend I've never met. I'm going to tell you a story about the tornado we had this summer that wrecked the store this postcard is from. During the tornado, ELCA (The Evangelical Lutheran Church of America) had their convention here in Minneapolis at the time and voted to allow Gay and Lesbian preachers have official congregations recognized under their synod. After the tornado they thought God did it to punish them. By the way, your last name means Rooster in Spanish.
Love, Val

The second card was sent to rongo rongo.
Hello Stranger!
So one of the strangest things that has ever happened to me happened while I was working in a dorm. We were on patrol and found a trail of blood that led from the entry to the 1st floor mens room. Which was covered with horror-movie levels of blood. But there were no people. So we followed the trail to the elevators. There's no way to know which of the 12 floors (of) the dorm they got off on, so we got out on every floor till we get to the 11th where the trail continued. We found the bleeding fellow. Apparently he'd broken his nose in a friendly fight. Life ennit? We spent the rest of the night cleaning up blood.
Love Margo!

I'm curious how you convinced strangers to share such interesting thoughts on a postcard...how did you prompt them?
I approached them on the outdoor patio of a great little brewery/pub on Minneapolis's West Bank. I simply asked them to do me a favor. I said that I was very important to me that they send these postcards, and that they were encouraged to write whatever they wanted on the back. A story, note, poem, joke... anything. We didn't chat more than 5 minutes. They just seemed very cool. I actually held on to these cards for a while waiting for the right folks to give them to.
Thanks to rongo rongo for help
