INSTRUCTIONS: Eat a food that frightens you.

I dont really understand the appeal of eating insects, but i just ate a beetle. Beetles are food in some cultures, and i do fear what will happen after i eat the beetle. I do not fear the beetle as the instructions ask, but i dont feel that most people fear food, they fear the taste or the aftermath. Either way is this how i get points?

Go have a look at some other peoples praxis, it will give you an idea on how to write a good one and get points. One paragraph with no pictures just doesn't do it, you see? Your aim is to document and share, then you get votes. Keep trying.

This.

I mean, eating a beetle definitely counts for the task. But votes come for the story - where did you get the beetle? Did you eat it raw, or cooked, or what? Do you have any pictures so you can prove you did it... and so we can see your reaction... and so some wiseacre in the comments might tell us what species your prey was?

It's hard to describe, really. The "perfect writeup" defies a really good description. But I'd recommend, if you want to see how to really get us excited about your exploits, taking a look at Darkaardvark's Instruction Manual for tips, and the shplanked list for amusement and inspiration.

Glad to see you here, looking forward to your next task. :)

Indeed.

One way to think about it is this: the task promises ten points, and you got those ten points by doing the task. But you can get more points by impressing people with a particularly dramatic, clever, mindblowingly-awesome, unexpected, or just neat completion. Adding a few pictures to this, for example, would certainly do the trick. In time, you'll come to expect more of your points to be from votes than from task completions themselves.

Another way to think of it is this: points aren't the goal. The goal is to do awesome things. Points are a crude way of showing the amount of that you've put on display for us all - but we're reading your praxes for the content, and presumably you're reading ours for the same thing.

Anyhow, welcome to the game, and I look forward to seeing what you come up with next!
