INSTRUCTIONS: Show someone a better way to solve a mundane problem they are facing.

I love my pit bull in a major way. She is kind. She is thoughtful. She is pensive. She is sarcastic. She is just fantastic.

Her problems start with her nails. She won't let me cut them. She scurries, runs, wrestles, whines and yelps like I am murdering her so really she has trained me not to clip her nails.

Which leads to our regular dilemma of her getting caught in all sorts of things. Carpets. Sweaters. Really anything fabric. And she loves blankets with a passion. When it gets even slightly cold she starts hunkering down and wants a fire with a cozy blanket wrapped around her.

The image below is a nightly situation during the winter. She lays down, I cover her and when she tries to get up she trails the blanket after her until it falls naturally or I unleash her. The worst part is she looks pitiful while it is all going down. It's like Groundhog's Day with Bill Murray. It's a new problem to her each and every time it happens.

The bonus, though, is each and every time, I am a freakin' hero!

Our process:

-The temp dips to a chilly 72 degrees and Luthando begins to demand her creature comforts with pleading eyes, pacing and pulling over blankets to her area
-Give it twenty minutes and the entanglement occurs
-she twists left and right, shows her belly, whines a bit
-she barks and looks my direction
-I come over and ask, "How did this happen?" in my most concerned, social work voice I can muster
-she whines
-I kiss her head to calm and ease her
-I free her in one swoop with a right hand over left hand twist combination
-she stands on her feet and stretches as though she has been "in those cuffs" for a solid week
-she saunters toward freedom with me in her rearview mirror

Awwwww. This reminds me of your amazing 189 story. Your patience/compassion are very striking from this vantage.
Also, I love that Lu Hex can add to our coalition of three-lettered x names!
