Object Annotation by Dela Dejavoo
March 18th, 2008 7:27 AMIt became obvious my letter was going to be written for an object of the CTA.
I ended up writing two letters, one to the Division Bus Westbound which I take to work every morning, and one to the Bus Stop Shelter at Pulaski and Division where I wait for the bus home each day.
I found it especially important that I write these letters this week as the weather is warming and any day now I will start riding my bike to work and not be in contact with either object until next winter.
The text is a bit difficult to read in the pics. I wrote out the the text of the first letter in the description of the photo to make it easier.

This letter is especially touching. Thanks for reminding me that it's okay to take CTA sometimes.
I'm glad you're back on your bike, though!
It's always OK to take the CTA!
Pros of biking: More fun, good exercise, free, can smirk at drivers stuck in traffic
Cons of biking: Might get killed by large moving vehicle, can be unpleasant in inclement weather, crappily paved Chicago streets
Pros of taking CTA: Can read books on the way to things, easy to overhear bizarre conversations
Cons of taking CTA: Can really screw you over when the bus/train is late/delayed/too crowded, potential of being felt up by creeps who think they can get away with it due to excessive crowding
It was very thoughtful of you to thank utilitarian objects for their utility.
