Discourse (see more)
Not a book, but - ludocity.org is a pervasive game wiki, with a nice list of game rules for people who want to run things, put together by smart British people. Possible connections to the Soho Project must be forgiven.
Oh, and @Dax:
I love it when Dax says "Splendid!". It usually means something very splendid will follow.
@Myrna:
I've got a copy of that. I've done a few. I got arrested. :-(
A lot there would be great for task ideas. Maybe I'll post some...
Splendid! I dug around on Jane McGonigal's site and found a full copy of her dissertation (previous link was only the first four chapters). The PLØ link is now updated.
This writing is awesome. I've skimmed through a few of the sections, which are especially lucid dissections of ARGs (The Beast, I Like Bees). Chapter 7 is an absolutely wonderful interpretation of SFZero as a tool for appropriation and empowerment, while sections 8.1-8.3 bring up the rhetoric of the design that seeds collaboration. All you who are considering an SFZero book v.2 need to take an hour to look over Chapters 7 and 8. Dr. McGonigal has done most of the analyzing for us - and this is all from '06!

ah, yes, Fluxus!
