Irregular Animal Documentation by Dr. Subtle

February 1st, 2008 2:09 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Document an animal you rarely see. Domesticated animals - whether friend, foe, or feral - don't count except in extraordinary circumstances. Beyond that, you're on your honour; in some areas, a squirrel might well be a rare sighting, just as in other areas it's quite common to see munk parakeets (i.e. the pet store kind) perched on telephone wires along Woodlawn Street...

Federal Express Trucks, as well as other Delivery Trucks, are common animals in the city.

Rare, however, is a FedEx Custom Critical truck.

Custom Critical is FedEx's Green Berets- the division tasked with transporting only the most priceless and fragile things- museum pieces, artwork, etc. They are ultrarare to see in the wild.

For a month or so now I've been tracking FedEx Trucks, and just recently I finally came upon a Custom Critical truck, on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Man, did it feel good to finally see one. What its contents were, I might never know. But I'm glad to have at least glimpsed the vessel for some priceless mystery.

Too bad you couldn't track it to its lair!
