The Permanent Collection by El Neil

September 17th, 2008 9:15 AM

INSTRUCTIONS: Surreptitiously place a book of your creation into a public library, such that it will likely be mistaken for part of its collection.

okay, bear in mind i did this with limited resources.

main_ingredients66726.jpg

2 x a4 refill pad
glue stick
wrapping paper (as subtle as possible)
stapler
scissors, pen, sellotape and computer (not shown)
2 x beer

main_stuckpages66727.jpg

glue and staple a4 refill pads together so they open the same way (like a book) and have card on the outside (like a book).

main_oldschool66728.jpg

cover the book with the subtle wrapping paper (glue and staples) old school styleee.

tadaa! one book. search the university library catalogue, using the title of the task...

main_search66731.jpg

take the first entry that it throws up: located at 709.7291 - call it 709.7.

print number in "courier new" font and sellotape to book (note the "SF0" notation). add title of task as title of book.

A vote just for the nice touch of calling the book "the permanent collection". Sign, now I wish I still had a version of the "Jane Austin" (correct spelling) fake ups so I could use it for this task...

Anyway, well done.

Did you basically add an empty book to the collection?
I love it! The subtle wrapping paper too :-D
