About a month ago, I spent a weekend in Yosemite with some friends. While hiking around and taking in the unparalleled majesty that surrounded us (and in my case, getting a terrible bit of altitude headache for a while), we found a nice big hole in a mountain, that appeared to be filled with a bunch of fallen rocks.
However, once we scrambled up the rocks aways, we found a room!
At the back of the room we found evidence of pervious inhabitation....
And upon further investigation, we found that the previous occupant had been awesome.

I think it's possible that you found what was called, on my 7th grade class trip to Yosemite, the "Spider Cave". Because it's spider shaped, not because of an abundance of spiders within.
Or, more probably, this is an entirely different crevice/cave. But I'd like to think it's the same one.
