Please Love Back by freya gefn, maccabee Shelley, Rubin Starset, avidd opolis

INSTRUCTIONS: There are signs on SF MUNI busses that say "Please Move Back". The signs are red with white lettering. The task is to change the "M" in move to an "L."
One proven way is to make vinyl stickers.
The stickers should be about 1.5" tall by 1.25" wide. They should be red with about a .3" white stripe on the very bottom. If you are going to make stickers you should take your own measurements.
There are many ways to complete the task:
1. Change the letters yourself.
2. Make stickers (or whatever else works) and distribute them with instructions.
3. Convince others to change the letters.

Rubin:
The plan was to call Maccabee some time on Saturday, once I met up with Lina somewhere in the city. The plan was foiled as I didn't copy down his phone number right. Both parties completed the task, though seperately, our goals were the same.

I made a bunch of Ls the morning of, going by the measurements off of the task description, I wasn't too sure they'd fit right. Got a hold of my bag, camera, iPod, and my Hiptop. Out the door I go. Before meeting up with Lina I completed another task without even knowing it, I'll submit that one later.

Lina and I got on the 71 on Market. After eyeing the sign on the wall ad space thing, and in my hand, I started to doubt that I had gotten the size right, Lina was sharing this thought. I wanted to try any how, pulled off the paper on the back, lined it up, slapped it on. Perfect! Works so well. The only down side was the space between Please and Love doesn't match up with Love and Back, but oh well, can't win them all. Got off, jumped onto the 9 (Number nine, number nine, number nine), it was not Lina's turn.

The next day I ended up handing out my left over Ls to a few friends, one of which I hope will join SF0 some time soon. I'm attaching my Photoshop file as a PSD and PNG (both to be printed out at 8.5" x 11") as they sized up so well. I used some letter sized sticker paper, you can find this for an ok price at most office stores. Left over sheets can be used to make some other SF0 projects.

Lina:
I'm glad that Rubin convinced me to do this task... it was a blast and at first I'll admit that I was hesitant to complete it... once we did though, we didn't want to stop. if anyone see's the stickers let us know ^^

macc:
Rubin, your Ls look way nicer than mine! Word up yo! Iv'e distributed a lot more than i have put up. I think i get off on making other people do things. I still have a bunch of stickers and can teach people how to make the simple ones out of vinyl by the foot with kinko's free cutter.
UPDATE 5/16: I added some more distribution pics and posted how to make your own stickers HERE. Last night i saw that some letters had been changed on a bus in the mission, so i am guessing that they are not all being taken down right away.
UPDATE 5/17:Added pics of someone putting up stickers.
Update 5/21: Stopped using bold and all-caps. I've distributed over 500 stickers.
Update 5/22: Added two more pics
5/26: added a pic i found at http://flickr.com/photos/monstro/147046667/
6/2: a friend told me she saw a "hippie guy" putting up a sticker on a bus and gave him some i had given her so he could do more. She also said people smiled at them.

UPDATE 2006 05 28 Rubin: I like caps and bold, hit up 3 buses during the weekend. Added photos.

My friend snapped a photo of this and uploaded it to Flickr. I commented on it. Then you emailed me via Flickr about this. It's how I learned about sf0.

Thanks!
