Ah, Ziggy C., you have misunderstood how this novel invention works. While I have relied on newly discovered natural phenomena, without the invented technology it would be useless.
The fact that tungsten becomes white hot when electricity is passed through it is a discovered natural phenomenon, yet you surely would not deny that light bulbs were invented, not discovered?
I would love to be able to explain it to you in more depth, but I must protect the secrets of this new technology until it is ready to be released to the public - or rather until the public are ready for its release.
;)
your disclaimer.
your taste in films.
your support of the Welsh national produce (the music)
And I'm sorry if this makes me look stupid, but I don't know how you did it. it looks to secure to be static, did you have a ruler up your sleeve?
No ruler - no sleeves!
If I made the video again I'd make it clearer that there's no ruler or pole or anything sneaking under my arm... [EDIT: I added a second video to show this]
It did take me a while to figure out how to pull this task off in a remotely convincing way. I'm glad it's got you (at least temporarily) flummoxed!
PS the music is Catatonia's "Strange Glue" :)
No ruler or pole sneaking under your arm huh? That is surely what I had suspected. If you could some how demonstrate to me that this is true, this would be vote worthy. If I were going to do this task and have it look convincing with no obvious assistence, I would drill a hole through the table under the book (or DVD, can't tell), attach a handle to the book and have someone push it up under my hand. It doesn't look to me like that is what you did, so if your ruler denial is truthful, then you got me stumped too
*edit: Video #2: You are a clever fellow. One vote from me as promised. I know something is going on, but I don't know what it is. I feel like i've been hoodwinked
There's something going on with your thumb. Why do you thumb the edge of the video?
Clueless.... but thumb is involved (how, I don't know). Mystery. Nice Glue.
I've figured it out. My god you're a clever man, it's so simple. The trick is to go to far more effort than anyone would imagine you would go to to achieve your goal.
I'm not sure what it was that gave it away, but when I re examined the second video I spotted a clue so massive it's practically an insult. Damn you lowness of resolution!
That's clever. It reminds me a little of this video:

This glue is going to be everywhere! Man, are you going to get rich...
I utterly fail to see the connection with Gondry´s video, but it is a good ad for feet-tasking.
That's brilliant.
(And yes, I think I have it figured out. And yes, the clue is in video two. And yes, I'm nonetheless quite impressed.)
That is just great. Even without the "obvious" clue in the second video, the way the object moves makes what's going on pretty clear. The first video manages to hide it better, although the corner of the paper is a bit of a giveaway too... Very nicely done though.
I actually wish I could vote twice, just because you used the word "ether" in your subtitle. If you'd said Phlogisten I WOULD have, even if it required sock-puppetry...
While I like this, I'd have to say that naturally occurring phenomenon =/= newly invented technology..
