The Taking Tree by Stinky Pants, Ami Green
June 4th, 2010 9:27 PMSo, we got together some stuff. First we went to our local Deals (kinda like a dollar store, but classier... or something) and we got: A bible on CD (holy), a fabulous padded toilet seat with a beautiful sun embroidery on it (crap!), as well as a plunger (which does not plunge... dang thing is rock solid), some diapers, and toilet paper... all in all mostly on the "crap" half of the theme... Then we went to Walmart.... They have NO toilet brushes... WTF?! but we got a big ass jar of powdered fiber, yummy. We procured two toilet brushes from Bed Bath and Beyond, one large and one small. Next we went to Borders for some more Holy type crap. We got "The Passion of the Christ" and looked for something, anything, by L. Ron Hubbard... Alas, they had too much common sense to stock his works. So, across the street to Barnes and Noble! Again, they had standards, so they didn't have any Scientology. So, we got a book about 2012 and Atlantis instead. It may be a dead religion, but the Maya religion still made more sense than some today. (Scientology comes to mind... What crazies!!)
That's 10! So, off to the park to give them to the trees.

Can't believe we actually had to pay for this crap....

For the Toilet paper, we decided to put it up pretty high (mostly 'cause I wanted to see if I could get up there, Its about 10 feet to the first branch.)

See the pretty sun? =)

Ahhh the natural habitat of Diapers... a White Oak

This poor Bible only cost a quarter...

"the opaque zone that separates man from himself and from nature has become a part of man, and a part of nature. Our task is not to rediscover nature, but to remake it."
From the Biome description. "Hiding crap in trees" seems to fit this.
It was all left in its original packaging, and should (with the possible exception of the book) be in a fine state to be found and reclaimed for future use. If, in a couple days, it has not been reclaimed, I will clean it up myself... I run through that park on a fairly regular basis. We chose things that would be surprising, even confusing, to find, and also fit (loosely) within a theme, but littering was not our intent.
As far as whether or not it "fits," the instructions said to: "hide 10 objects in 10 trees," aka, hide crap in trees to be found by others...
Meh. Hiding crap in trees is not very Biome. -1 for littering. :P
IMHO, Hiding implies an element of either hide-and-seek, or an element of surprise. If you do not reasonably expect someone to 'find' it and be interested in it, you're not 'hiding' things to anyone. I guess I would be a bit puzzled, but mostly annoyed to find these, even if they would stay in their original state and not decompose.
