A place you have never been. by Hemingway Kat

April 7th, 2007 11:31 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Go Here
Now copy the random word go to Google maps
Select find business and enter the random word in the left text field and your address in the right address field.

Go to the first business listed that you have never been to.

ADDENDUM: write the word permanently or semi-permanently outside the business.

I generated a random word.

"darkness"

*side note: yesterday, I was having a conversation about waffles, and the RWG generated... "waffles." Odd. Also, Joe theorizes that the words are, in fact, randomly generated by a room full of numbered weasels with dictionaries, who each pick a random word; then a number is drawn, and that weasel scampers off to deliver his word. Maybe Joe and I should be getting more sleep.

I then looked up a business on Google maps using my word and my address.

Wonko's Toys and Games

*another note: use google maps to get driving directions from New York, NY to Dublin, Ireland. Number 23 is worth it.

I've never been there.

Spawn (Techno Spawn!), Star Wars, Tim Burton toys, bags of zombies, and a giant Pumpkinhead... it was great.

I also wrote "darkness" on a strip of clear tape and placed it on some tile next to their window... it's an independently owned Austin business, and I had no desire to cause even slightly more permanent markings.

This is really creepy, but... Remember that dream I had about the shop called Pirate Land? Or maybe I didn't tell you about that dream... Anyway, the shop front in the picture kinda reminds me of it.

Points for a) Turning up a game store and b) the tip about google directions from NY to Dublin. Awesome.
