Ariadne Unemployed by Jain Sycamore, Wetdryvac

INSTRUCTIONS: Play in a labyrinth.

Aside to start: I seem to have included a partner when submitting for team. Um. My error. I did this one myself (wetdryvac) and just buggered stuff up on submission.

I've been wanting to do this for ages. A corn maze, a building... and I ended up getting really lucky and having a trade commission that worked out such that I got to make one myself. That looked sorta like this...

Trade commission: A 41.4"x33.2 inch
Labyrinth, with paths on the half inch, drafted in pencil, painted in red watercolor paint mixed with black silk screen ink, and finished with coffee. I can’t begin to guess at how long it took to finish - I fell down with a headache after the initial blackwork - but it was a pretty long time.

The drafting component, I needed something that I could get perfect(ish) circles from and string and a thumbtack just wasn't cutting it. Ended up using a door lintel strip (cheap metal, easily drilled and filed smooth) which I wish I'd thought to do symbolically, but it just happened to be the first easily drillable piece of long straight thin-enough metal I found in the basement.

Thumbtack through the first drilled hole, and then roundabout on the half inch repeatedly until I fit the space I wanted.

Draft in each turn on the half inch, mirror north and south, starting north south, and 1/2 inch of turn-space, clockwise.

Clear the gap for the turns by erasing.

Paint like an idiot, all strokes counter-clockwise, until completely insane and in so much pain a nap is necessary.

Finish the characters and nature around the edges, try not to go more insane.

Probably about 20 hours all told.

Beautiful.

but I voted on the wrong player? how does that work? I think it is all the same. if not I will right it. And on behalf of whoever didn't do it, I thank you. Feel free to accidentally include me in any of your praxis!

I think a vote is a vote, and if more than one person is in the, "Did this thing..." They get points. I'm cool with this - I just don't know how I messed it up, unless I'd included them back when we were planning to walk a corn maze.

*shrugs*

Either way, no worries.

I demand photos of the process and/or materials used to make it!

I have no process photos, but...

...as I use the tools fairly regularly, I've updated with pictures.
