Work is So Strange by A.N. Other

One wouldn't think an exploding bottle of molten agar to be all that odd, especially when one works in a lab where such events happen almost everyday. But this is one story I must share, for I nor any of my co-workers can figure out how this happened.
She had just carried the bottle of agar from one end of the room to the other without problem. She placed the bottle in the water bath, a device used to heat water to high levels. She walked away from the bottle.
That's when it rocketed out of the water bath.
None of us had seen something like this before. We've seen agar shoot out of the top of the bottle. We've seen bottle bottoms break. But this bottle shot out of the bath, cleared the table, and shatter on the ground.
The agar stayed in the water bath.
As I said, we still haven't figured it out. The bottles, while under pressure, never lifted off before. Caps haven't even flown off.
Eris works in funny ways, doesn't She?
