I have to admit, although I might be more "book smart" than my husband, he certainly is clever. When I found this task, I immediately had images of toilet paper and paper mache. I'm not much of an artist, but I miss a time when arts and crafts was cool. Ok...it was never cool, but that is all the more reason my husband came through for me. I had already slaved over a hot stove cooking up a mache paste and had cut newspaper into strips.



Bemused by my undertaking, he simply says, "Why didn't you make a whipped cream hat?" I gawked at him. And I began to wonder, why didn't I make a whipped cream hat? Such a simple idea became grandeur in my head as I envisioned marvelous whipped cream hats that would put all other hats at the Derby to shame. And more important, I had the perfect model.

I began to gather my supplies...


My creation was underway...


Nothing like a little cherry on top...


And now enter the model...


Not to fear. He's hungry, not scared.


I think he likes it! Oh no! My creation is destroyed!


Oh well...I guess next time I'll stick to paper mache!
