AHAHHAHAHHHAHA omg this made me die. (No plastic bag needed!)
I think there are various definitions of "wealth" at play here. Auntie Matter seems to feel that the valid definition of "wealth" in the SF0 community is points, and they should be distributed to other teams. However, the majority of the potlatch participants were redistributing "wealth" in the form of art, song, food, and dance, amongst their fellow members of CG0. In a game like this, I don't think any one definition of wealth is any more valid than another.
Auntie Matter's criticism seems to imply not only that the only valid definition of wealth is points, but that the point (or one of the points) of the potlatch was to redistribute wealth to the entire SF0 community. This was actually never one of the potlatch's stated intentions. It was always about redistribution within/amongst CG0 (and of course to the visiting SL0 emissary).
DEATH TO SOCK PUPPETS!
i wish there was a supercommentvote for this! due to my brain's weird sense of humor, this was my favorite post on sf0 in quite some time.
hi, my name is julian muffinbot and i am a fan of sockpuppets.[1]
[1] as long as they are contributing humorously to the discourse, rather than arbitrarily fucking with the scores.
I agree, some sock puppets contribute positively to the community.
i love that this fan mail is going to someone who has never had to deal with having a famous name.
apparently, Herbie-itis affects different players to different degrees.
yes. join the derby! muahahhahahahhaha
though, sometimes i dream of all the time i'd have to task, if i didn't have derby eating my life...
strangely, i haven't had any derby wounds interesting enough to document here. i don't really get nice dark bruises, and my shoulder scrapes just aren't that fascinating to be worth all the documentation, and i've been very lucky to not get any serious injuries.
the LOG ROLL.
i kinda suck at art and get easily overwhelmed, so i limited myself to just the few supplies i found at the home of my friend that i'm visiting this week. i did buy a gluestick though. she didn't have markers or paints or anything, nor any stack of handy collage-able magazines so these are all paper cutouts. i made the bikes and the USA (and several others that i will come back and post later) and my host made the squirrels card. we both wrote messages on the back.
ok, this made me laugh: - There are more LOL? than suggestions for peace. I think this is an accurate reflection of the real world.
