Fortune Not Cookie by Colonel Kerbstomp, Musashi

December 1st, 2010 6:10 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Install fortunes of your devising in permanent or non-permanent media in openable structures, such that passersby will come across them.

Colonel Kerbstomp and I decided to have some fun with this one. He brought home a bunch of Assassin's Creed pins that came with velvet-ish pouches. Turns out they were perfect for this task. After picking out a bunch of our favorite quotes and proverbs, we wrapped the pins in the "fortunes" and put the pins in the bags. We figured when people find a little bag like that, they open it to see what's inside of it. For added "hey, read this" effect, we wrote "for you" or "read me" on the outside of the fortunes. After a bunch of deliberation on where to dump these off, we decided on our Junior College. If anyone could use some words of wisdom, it's college students. High traffic areas were out targets just to make sure they were found. Along with my camera and a few planned shorts of artistic/stealth-appearing credit (which we actually had... the stealth part), we set out to take care of awesomeness.
