Photo Competition Number 1 by Innocuous Invention, Spidere, K prime, High Countess Emily, Momotiki, Too Much Exposition, Secret Cello
October 2nd, 2008 4:27 PM
(This praxis has been a long time coming. I've been trying for months to make an amusing video with voiceover commentary, or theme music--but it's way past time to just put it up, so I think i have to give up on the amazing presentation, at least for now. It was a lot of fun, and turned out some great pictures. Enjoy.)
Every year, we host a sort of reunion for HRSFA, our undergraduate science fiction association.
For the last few years, I've been organizing some sort of group activity in DC; last year, we did Bigger, Better, or More Bizarre. So I felt like this year, I should do something similarly...epic.
Thus began the HRSFA 2008 Photo Scavenger hunt, a photo competition with thirty-six players in eight teams, all trying to find the items on the list and take their pictures. In addition, at least two team members had to be in the picture for it to count. In order to make sure that this would meet the SF0 photo competition requirements, the first five categories were required. Bonus points were also awarded for the judge's favorite in each required category. Some amazing photos came out of it, so I'm mostly going to let them speak for themselves. But before you look at them, you might be interested to see the list of categories on the scavenger hunt:

Thanks, Morte! This was one of those task/events that I thought went really well, but didn't seem to catch people's imagination the way I'd hoped. I'm glad you liked it!
Oh Spidere, I miss you :(
Harumph!
