Fortune Not Cookie by Kommando

May 4th, 2009 12:43 AM / Location: -27.45759,153.03388

INSTRUCTIONS: Install fortunes of your devising in permanent or non-permanent media in openable structures, such that passersby will come across them.

I work at an internet cafe, and our logins are for set periods of time handed out on small tickets.
the half hour and one hour tickets are the most commonly bought and are roughly the size of a fortune cookie with the back side blank.

so it seems a perfect oppertunity to write down some small fortunes, proverbs, quips and puzzling phrases on the back of these tickets and sell them to patrons.
i wrote down about 50 before i ran out of ideas.

Ive written everything from ancient chinese proverbs (man who throws dirt loses ground), inspecific commands (Email them, tell them) , informative (vitamin water contains more sugar than coke) to simply strange (you dont have cancer) and even cruel (you will outlive your children)

so far noone has particularly mentioned them but i have had a few puzzled looks from people as they leave the counter reading their ticket.

maybe i will change someones day, maybe i will inspire confidence or gloom.

Oh, ive just had some bloke ask me if i wrote the fortune, his was "dont judge people lest you wish to be judged yourself". he seemed a little miffed.
