Graph of Desire by Lola Boom Boom

February 28th, 2008 1:08 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Generate a graph of your desires.

For this task I broke down my desires in to three categories: Physical, Mental/Emotional and Material. I made individual pictographs for each category and I tried to include desires that I percieved as universal to all humans as well as the most important ones to me. I decided on a pictograph because I don't think I've had the opportunity to create one since elementary school. I also chose this format because it is colorful and easy to read. My percentages were based on the amount of time per day I yearn for these desires. Lower percentages don't mean I desire less of something, only that it occures to me to desire this thing with less frequency on a daily basis. The same can be said, vice versa, for higher percentages. There is no mathmatical figuring involved with the creation of these graphs (percentage per desire, per category, combined, does NOT equal 100%) because I believe that all of the listed desires can be longed for simultaneously 100% of the time.

Desire for sex should always be double that of sleep!

I dunno guys. Sometimes my desire for sleep outweighs me desire for sex.
But I have an abnormally low sex drive.
When I'm not having sex.
Regularly.

Which I suppose which is why I haven't completed this simple task yet. Because my desires are lame. My entire chart would most likely have four columns. Adventure is probably my strongest desire overall. Then comes art. Then tasking. Then human connection. And I have all of the desires listed above, but at such minimal levels that some wouldn't even show up as quantifiable on a graph.

I thought I was supposed to be Herbie this week!
(Now his desire for sex and desire for sleep are EXACTLY the same... but only because he has to do them simultaneously!)

And yes, Senator, my desire for human connection is diminished because I get as much as I need apparently. But I always feel I can be tasking more and better.

Just because it's not a task anymore, doesn't mean you can't do it.
