Dérive by Loøke Jr.

June 29th, 2011 5:18 PM / Location: 44.972210,-93.27548

INSTRUCTIONS: Among the various situationist methods is the dérive [literally: 'drifting'], a technique of transient passage through varied ambiances. In a dérive one or more persons during a certain period drop their usual motives for movement and action, their relations, their work and leisure activities, and let themselves be drawn by the attractions of the terrain and the encounters they find there.

One can dérive alone, but all indications are that the most fruitful numerical arrangement consists of several small groups of two or three people who have reached the same awakening of consciousness, since the cross-checking of these different groups' impressions makes it possible to arrive at objective conclusions.

Beginning of a summer's Journey
Treasure in the sky
Shadows are my enemy!
To the promised land
I pass the towering monolith
If only...

A meal well had.
The glow

What Dérives us all...

Why thank you very much. Might I add that you too had a most excellent Dérive (that song makes it).

I like the instinctive approach.

I am somewhat concerned that you may not have dropped your motives, but hiding them, knowing your attraction all along. Would you elaborate for me? How do you feel this dérive has led you where your usual motives would not have?

On most typical nights like this, when I get done with work I go right over to my friend's house. But that evening my cell phone was broken and I realized as I was about to leave that once I was gone, no one could contact me, pester me about doing work for them tomorrow or badger me into "getting my butt over there faster, we're trying to have a cook out". It gave me a bit of a rebellious feeling. So I figured that eventually I would end up with my friends, but I was going to do it on my own time. From that came my Dérive.

My tiny moth heart was overjoyed as I fluttered around excitedly, light pouring out of everywhere I turned.

You've set my moth heart afluttering, friend.
