Remove A Task: The Task by SNORLAX

July 21st, 2006 11:28 AM

INSTRUCTIONS: The mechanics of SF0 depend sensitively on the distribution of tasks and points. Too many easy tasks and high level players will neglect the hard tasks. Too few, and players will be unable to reach the difficult tasks.

Help restore balance to the game by nominating a task for retirement. Your nomination should review all completions of the task, including highlights and low points, and assess what we collectively can learn from this task.

I nominate The pirate Penguin Task for removal. I really like the idea of a search/mission/treasure hunt, but there isn't anything to go on. It could be anywhere in SF, or even outside SF for all I know. The only person who could possibly complete the task is the creator, and she did. She completed the task as the task driected, simply with a photograph.

So I say remove it because it is something the creator had already done before it was posted as a task and only the creator could do. She could have pointed it out to you but that would be her finding it, not you. I thought about spraypainting the pirate penguin in a sidewalk with a stencil, but that wouldn't have been finding it, as the task required.

I think it would be an awesome task if there were clues or some sort of treasure hunt element to it, so I think it should be redone.

i agree. this task could have easily been done as the find something, write about it task. There are tons of sidewalk stencils in the city. Chiara Fox could have made a sidewalk stencil task, which would have been more fun for everyone
