Trespassing the Future by Grimalkin

August 24th, 2010 11:21 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Go to a place you will not be able to go to in 10 years; for instance, a place under development that will never be the same again.

I work for one of the "happiest places on earth"

And one of the areas I used to work is gone... to be replaced by a new theme.

The former Neverland Complex (Hooks Pointe, Lost Bar, Crocs Bits and Bites) is gone, never to return. Soon to be replaced by a 1950's theme tiki resort theme.

I have one picture from the night after it's final hurrah's. Shutters and doors closed forever.

I'll upload more once I get them off my phone.

Even with the crowd, the spectacle and the judicious wallet rapery, still like it there.

Man, it's always sad to see that kinda stuff go. I totally understand why they do that, and I don't remember it from when I was last there, BUT STILL! Poor Neverland. Who knew it'd just die off. :P

oh man! my dad's blood is still on a tree on the island! i guess all things pass. weird. props for documenting the passage of something known to us.

I once forced a boss to take me to one of those happy places.

I threatened to quit if I couldn't get the day off to go. (that morning)

He said, "Can we talk about this, that's pretty silly."

I siezed the chance and said, "Sure. There's a restaraunt right on the water, in pirates. In the park."

Thankfully he had a sense of humor and bought me my pass for the day. True story.

Thanks for the nostalgia trip - that's a great place to trespass the future!
