I am not a very good drawer but I do doodle a lot. It's something I do to keep my hands busy. I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to try and personify so I just started doodling while watching tv, trying to come up with different ideas. I started playing around with the different objects in my room. I finally came up with a garbage can, a book, and a television.

I got the idea for the garbage can from my roommate complaining that our other roommate still hadn't taken the trash out. There was a book on my nightstand that made me think of personifying a book. And I was watching tv so why not draw that?
