Find Roof Access by praximity, artmouse

INSTRUCTIONS: Find roof access.

ⓜoustache ⓔnvy:
Location: Roof of Doe Library, UC Berkeley

In observing Banned Books Week
(Sept 27-Oct 4th) we decided to make a 'banned' trip to the roof of Doe Library!

Given the current buzz about various people protesting various things and the trouble they've gotten in climbing things *coughtreesitterscough* we had to make efforts to be extra sneaky. (but we really weren't that sneaky - i admit, our ninja skills are lacking.)

We spent some time nosing around the byways and catwalks crisscrossing the rooftop
and admiring the splendid patina of the building's fine finials.

To say the least it the view didn't disappoint - looking out from Berkeley certainly provides some of the best views of the bay in my humble opinion.

What better way to enjoy a fine view than with a fine friend and a fine cigar?
misqueue:
So.
We were sitting in the library. Me lamenting my recent inability to task. Her mentioning something about a roof.

Such an opportunity doesn't come about very often in the university. The roofs of most buildings are either elaborately locked or ridiculously guarded.

So this roof must similarly difficult, I thought, and I wasn't really prepared for high intensity tasking. No rope on me, you know.

Sometimes things aren't as difficult as you imagine them.

It felt good to be up among the rust and history, wondering what Free Speech Movement protesters would have done had they got to such prime positions, thinking about all the potential crazy people who would kill to have a view like this if ever they went over the edge, stuff like that.

It felt good to be on a roof.

I'm recommending more library tasking for everyone.

I almost wrote a praise-filled "welcome to the game", until the sophistication of the writeup and a nagging doubt about the player names drove me to check for tasks by you two last era. I don't know how I could have missed this, you seem to be pretty consistently awesome. I have some reading to catch up on it seems.

speaking for myself,
the drop off in tasking hasn't made it easy/necessary to follow me lately.
if it makes you feel any better, I really only know of you by way of a cock ring.

I'll say it: there has been way too much awesome on sf0 recently. I can't keep up with all of it.

Oh that library!! Oh the roof of it!! Thank you for showing it to me & us. Time was, when you could get onto a lovely ledge to the right of and above the main entrance door. When they renovated Doe, the access disappeared, I think. Thank you for reminding me of some fond memories ledge-sitting under the moon, hidden from passersby in plain sight.

I remember a long time ago discovering that the bars that made it difficult to sneak through the Doe windows onto the roof catwalks were each held in place with two ordinary Phillips screws, and thinking that one of these days it would be fun to explore the roof. And, then years later you came along and did it, and you didn't even need the screwdriver. Nice.

And, I love the "I value the * landscape" sticker. (An phrase which google does not know! I refuse to change it.)

You been to the roof of Campbell? It lacks the thrill of the forbidden, but it's a lovely spot to eat lunch.

Since I can'nae vote I award you the GY0 Adam Seal of Approval. I love this completion as much as I love the task. I hope you had as much fun completing it as we did, it certainly looks like you did.

In a certain way this completion expresses very well what is the beautiful thing about climbing up on a roof and now after seeing this I really wanna climb a roof. It seems to be a good place to be.

really nice! now that you've found the roof, you won't even need the women's art history library bathroom balcony to enjoy the view... (hint...get a key at the art hist/classics library!)

haha!

that's even funnier...my ex-boyfriend used to work there and i'd hang out with him at the circ desk between bouts of visiting the schmantz women's bathroom on the 4th floor. i used to work at the MRC in moffitt, sadly in the basement, with no view, but plenty of tv sets.

woo library jobs!
i have watched Rushmore like, three times in the past six months in between classes thanks to the MRC. misqueue & i were just down there at the beginning of the semester watching The Umbrellas of Cherborg - an excellent film!

but yes, the view from the 4th floor WC is gorgeous. but the roof's is better ;D

just go after 4pm or 5pm, as that's when most people have left their offices
