I was able to get a clearer shot of the seal as it ate some fish it had caught on a nearby ice shelf.
And just yards away...
Just as the seals feed on the fish here, the polar bears feed upon seals. I wanted to get a closer shot, but I didn't want to risk disturbing a bear mid-dinner.
A predator in the shadows
I spotted a snow lion lurking in the shadows waiting for any unsuspecting seals coming out of the water.
No dinner tonight
It seems there will be no dinner for the lion tonight. With the storm fast approaching the lion did one more scan of the shore and then retreated inland.
Hi, what's your name?
My former roommates, on numerous occasions, came home to this scenario. It always began with me introducing myself and then the animal would tell me a bit about themselves.
and then in a twist of events!
They wouldn't get too far into the conversation before I took them by surprise.
Victorious!
There have been some epic struggles and many animals have put up a good fight, but so far I remain undefeated.
