As of this morning, the plaque is still there. Also, I said innocent bystander. She was fairly resistant to our pleas to help us, and thus was coerced.
Edit: As of this morning (June 4th, 2010), the plaque was still in place. Polymer clay has impressive holding ability... Asked some students to get pictures of people posing with it. Post them soon.
I like the creativity. Even if you didn't quite meet the letter of the task, you carried the spirit of resourcefulness and open-minded craftiness.
