The place to go for mundane, practical and obscure SFZero info. If we don´t know at least we know with whom to make a fool of ourselves by asking.

Eras? Shplank? The media folder? What podcast?

We really like to answer questions. Is kind of embarrasing.
Ah, and we always forget how to embed youtubes too.

The e-mail to mediafolder is good!
posted by babe on November 26th, 2008 4:05 AM

I am using the e-mail for sending files to my media folder all the time(not really all the time, but all the time I'm uploading). It didn't work a few days when the era was reset, but now it's good again and it safes lot's of time when you have to upload lot's of pictures.

First of all, the media folder *is* confusing

Also, in theory you can send files to your account by email, but I have never be able to do that.
And the duplicate pics in the bottom are going to be there always, that´s the "file pile", it confused me a lot too. But for long praxii (say, Lincoln's Player Picture) they turn into thumbnails, at the bottom, so they are not duplicates anymore.

Some people don't insert files into the write-up at all, so all the story goes in the captions.

(Are you dizzy yet?)

The media folder is where all of your media that is uploaded to SFØ goes to. All of the pictures and audio and whatever that you upload (either through email or direct upload to the "Upload Files" section of a task) onto SFØ is stored in your personal media folder. The pieces of media that are solely in your media folder (meaning not used in a proof) can be accessed by looking at the bottom of the "Upload Files" section of a task you're working on. Just click on "show" down there and you'll see all of the media you have stored. To put a file into that folder you'll notice that all media in your "Upload Files" section (when looked at in the big window on the left) has three buttons on the bottom, those buttons are "update", "move to media" and "delete". If you click "move to media" it'll go to the media file.

If you want the address of a specific file from your media folder, click on the image in your media folder, then click on the box that appears that says "add selected files" and in your proof click on "view file" and it'll open in a new window, use the url of that window to grab that image and use it somewhere else (like comments or whatever).

What is the media folder and how do I access it?

Also what does the "move to media" button do and would it take away the repeat pictures at the bottom of the praxis?

thanks
