Information Removal by Moviestar Jen

January 11th, 2008 12:18 PM

INSTRUCTIONS: Remove information from a place that has suffers from an overabundance information.

There is no doubt that my refrigerator suffers from an overabundance of information. Not to mention magnets. But I chose to pare down the info to only what I actually need, and perhaps leave the magnets for another day :-P My San Francisco magnets aren't going anywhere though (the rectangular ones across the middle)!

There were layers upon layers of papers I didn't need!

Things would frequently fall off even if I was just standing near it :-P

Still a lot of stuff on it, but only information I'll actually use. That's my shot glass collection on top of it.

I enjoy the idea here of cleaning up and making your life easier. But I want some other kind of information removed. But I don't know what yet...

I'm voting because I really like the idea (having done something similar just this morning), but I would ask if information was actually removed or just re-organized (obsolete information removal is really just a form of re-organization and the task is looking for actually removing useful information from a space already loaded with useful information (which finger do you remove to put on a 4 finger glove?). I'm wondering if this might be part of Lincoln's misgivings.

Very good point. It may have been helpful if I had categorized what I removed. I do know that I took off at least 8 "scripts" from my homeopathic doctor outlining what supplements she thinks I should take. That could be quite useful information. Apparently I choose to ignore it. I also removed a picture of me and my best friend that was supposed to motivate me to lose weight, but I guess I decided it wasn't working :-P As well as other things such as recipes for fudge that I begrudgingly threw out for the sake of having a neater fridge.
