INSTRUCTIONS: Take parts from wounded and misfit toys. Re-imagine and assemble them to make a new toy. Ensure that it is played with.

Elmo

Elmo

It started with one set of baby elmo speakers I got in Japan. one of the sides only works sometimes and it's very quiet, so it isn't great but it's cute and cuddly.

annoying noise mechanism

annoying noise mechanism

This little device i got in a christmas card a few years ago. I kept the card but as it got older it started playing rudolf the red nosed reindeer every time a static shock went off in its general area. it got so bad that a shock in the next room set it off. Alaska's dry weather makes for a lot of rudolf.

the plan

the plan

I thought it would be funny for these toys to go together. How would you feel if suddenly your speakers started playing Christmas songs when they weren't plugged in?

the secret

the secret

under a little stuffing but right next to the wires this thing picks up on shocks like crazy.

Resently one of my best friends, and a fellow player needed brain surgery. I desided he needed this the most. Pachi and Hope helped me get to him.

happy

happy

Justin was very happy to get it, he thinks it's funny.

special

special

Now he can listen to music without needing to have his ear buds in all the time, and he has someone to cuddle with! Plus he can freak out the nurses with christmas music.

This doesn't exactly "make a new toy", as specified in the task description, but I'm giving you full points for the spirit of your praxis.

And also because what you did here is largely what I do for a living. :)

Taking good advantage of the static shockability of your Christmas card chip was very cool.
