Journey to the End of the Year: Berlin 2009 by Pandialo

A friend, who was at the congress of chaos computer club showed me a flyer of totheendoftheyear that he had got there. It was the day of silvester. All the time, we didn't know what to do this evening and such a game in the city sounded like the best thing one could do.
Together with 10 friends (we had a political seminar in Berlin) we took part and it was real fun. Most of our group were not from Berlin, so with two others, I took the lead. We tried to fiend routes, that were not that obvious, we were really a little paranoid about the chasers in town. So the first time, we had to run away was short before the third checkpoint, but we lost nobody. Before we could reach the fifth checkpoint, six of us were caught. We found other players who had lost their group and who came with us. With all that banging from the fireworks and explosions all the time, it felt like being in a war and escaping enemy troups or something.
At last, we were only two, Isabel and me. From Alexanderplatz to the c-base, we had to walk after fleeing from a subway station that was crowded with chasers. Somehow we did it. Our feet were hurting and we were really hungry, but we were lucky on our way to the Rungestraße, we didn't meet any chasers, though there were many coming after us to the finish. We came quarter an hour late, but were sixth.
It was real fun, the people were cool and I had the feeling, that these about 150 people would really change the city for a few hours, just by using it for a playground. Today, I watched the site again and found sf0.org.
