Dérive by shady grey

INSTRUCTIONS: Among the various situationist methods is the dérive [literally: 'drifting'], a technique of transient passage through varied ambiances. In a dérive one or more persons during a certain period drop their usual motives for movement and action, their relations, their work and leisure activities, and let themselves be drawn by the attractions of the terrain and the encounters they find there.

One can dérive alone, but all indications are that the most fruitful numerical arrangement consists of several small groups of two or three people who have reached the same awakening of consciousness, since the cross-checking of these different groups' impressions makes it possible to arrive at objective conclusions.

The full text...

Undertake a dérive, and report your objective conclusions to your fellow players.

After a night of drinking (for free, whaaaat!!), I stumbled across Blackfriars Bridge along with someone else who was at the same meet-up as I, who seemed to be far more disoriented than I as well ('Are we north or south of the river?'). After helping him get to the nearest tube station, I set out for a little dérive action.

I take pictures a lot. I wouldn't say I'm a photographer, but perhaps it could be fitting to call myself a very amateur one. I took pictures along my walk, which amounted to about an hour's rambling until I found myself all-too familiar territory, in which case I considered the dérive over.

Please note the captions I've added to the photographs.

I had thought of submitting this for the 'Art under the influence' task, but I realised I had no photos of me drinking the three pints I had at the meet.

Thus, I was rather lacking in evidence on that end.

Lovely captions. I especially like the photo you got with the blinking lights all off.

Thank you. I mean to upload them onto my Flickr account in their proper sizes at some point. I took loads more. When I get drunk I get really clicky with the camera.

"I was playing around with my camera, and managed to set it to Evil, apparently."

More cameras should have this setting.

I believe that happens when you set it on live mode, but backwards.
