Fortune Not Cookie by shady grey

INSTRUCTIONS: Install fortunes of your devising in permanent or non-permanent media in openable structures, such that passersby will come across them.

So yeah. An openable structure? Can a book work? It's something someone can open.

I went to my university library, the School of Oriental and African Studies, armed with a handful of fortunes I made last night on the computer. You can see the pre-printed work on the computer screen shot below. Mr Scuffles and I went to the library where he assisted me in slipping fortunes in books. Although I had a lot of fortunes to put inside the books, I only managed to put fortunes in around eight or nine books on two different levels of the library, mostly in fear of infiltration by other library patrons or staff.

However, you can see two examples of the books below. Further, as I will be continuing to use the SOAS library for dissertation work, I will continue to slip little paper fortunes in books. Should I add more areas of book congregation to this project (book stores/shops, other libraries), I shall make further note of it, and provide pictures if possible. Mr Scuffles really needs to buy us a proper spycam.

I was able to go back and enter the SOAS library again to obtain some more books, and I had the fortunes on hand, so I figured it would be a good time for another hit. I mainly focused on the Sociology and Anthropology sections of the library, but I probably slipped about eight or ten more fortunes in various books, including one that dealt with the anthropology of magic, if I remember correctly.

Work on the fortunes before printing them out.

He likes the smell of old books.

Instead of a Chinese fortune cookie, how about a Chinese fortune book?

One of the fortunes slipped in a book to be shut and put back on the shelves.

hang on. tomorrow is yours.

hang on. tomorrow is yours.

Probably stuck in some book on food, since that's what I'm studying.
