The Highest Place by Sam Archer

I've had this task tucked away in the back of my brain for a long time now, just waiting for a good "highest place" to get to. Like, this one time I was at Justin Herman Plaza and had the bright idea of climbing up to the highest place of the fountain. Let me tell you something: those big pipe things are a lot steeper and more slippery than they look. I got about halfway up and decided to look for a highest place that didn't involve quite as much risk of spinal injury.
Anyway, a little while back I was walking around Bernal Heights with my sister. The sun was setting and I was hoping we might spot that coyote I've heard so much about. When we got up to the top, there was this building sealed off behind a black iron fence that my sister found a convenient gap in. So we went exploring, and of course found a way to climb up on the roof of the building, because that's what we do.
The view from up there was pretty cool. There was also some kind of antenna tower, a security camera, and a large pile of beer bottles that suggested that we weren't the first ones up there and that getting spotted by the camera probably wasn't a big deal.
Right as we were making that observation, it was confirmed by a group of partygoers down below us wriggling their way through another gap in the fence. They were talking loudly enough amongst themselves that from up on the roof I could just make out one of them saying something about "the highest place".
And I said to myself, well then.

That's a pretty all-around solid completion.
